Schedule Integration

Service areas integrate directly with your schedule, providing instant visual feedback about where each job is located.

How It Appears

When a visit is scheduled for a property that belongs to a service area, the visit card displays a coloured left border matching the area's colour. This appears in all schedule views:

  • Day View - Both time-based and order-based layouts
  • Week View - All event cards including all-day events
  • Month View - Event chips within each day cell

Benefits for Scheduling

1. Route Planning

At a glance, you can see if jobs are grouped efficiently:

  • Same colour jobs together = good routing
  • Alternating colours = potential backtracking

2. Crew Assignment

Assign crews to specific areas for the day to minimise travel time.

3. Workload Balance

See if certain areas are overloaded while others have capacity.

4. Gap Identification

Spot days where you could add more work in a specific area.

No Area Assigned

If a property doesn't fall within any service area, visits will appear without a coloured border. This might indicate:

  • The property is outside your defined service zones
  • The property doesn't have coordinates set
  • Service areas haven't been configured yet

Future updates will include the ability to filter the schedule by service area, showing only jobs in selected zones.

Tips for Effective Use

Colour Strategy

Choose colours that are easy to distinguish:

Schedule Organisation

For best results:

  1. Define 4-6 main service areas
  2. Use distinct colours for each
  3. When scheduling, try to group same-colour jobs together
  4. Review weekly to identify routing improvements

Team Training

Help your team understand the colour coding:

  • Share what each colour represents
  • Encourage them to notice patterns
  • Use it in daily briefings: "Today you have mostly green zone jobs"
