Weather Settings
Choose which weather data provider powers forecasts on your schedule. Each provider has different features and requirements.
Accessing Weather Settings
- Go to Settings in the sidebar
- Scroll to Connected Apps
- Click Weather
Available Providers
WeatherAPI (Default)
The default weather provider with reliable global coverage.

Note: WeatherAPI requires an API key to be configured by YardPilot administrators. Most accounts have this pre-configured.
Open-Meteo (Free)
A free, open-source weather provider that works without any configuration.

Benefits:
- Works immediately with no setup
- No API key or account required
- Uses ECMWF weather models (same as major weather services)
- Completely free with no usage limits
Changing Your Provider
- Open Settings > Connected Apps > Weather
- Select your preferred provider
- Click Save Changes
- Weather data will update on your next schedule view
Changes Apply Immediately
After changing providers, simply refresh your schedule page to see weather from the new provider.

Recommendations
Use Open-Meteo if:
- You want weather to work without any setup
- 10-day forecasts meet your planning needs
- You prefer a free, open-source solution
Use WeatherAPI if:
- You need 14-day forecasts for longer-term planning
- You have specific API requirements
- It's already configured for your account
Troubleshooting
Weather not updating after provider change
- Clear your browser cache
- Refresh the schedule page
- Weather data is cached for 15 minutes - wait and try again
All weather values showing zero
This typically indicates an API issue. Try:
- Switching to Open-Meteo (Free) which requires no configuration
- Contact support if the issue persists
Weather icons not displaying
Ensure you're connected to the internet and refresh the page. Icons are loaded from the server.
Permissions
Only Owners and Admins can change weather settings. All team members can view weather on the schedule regardless of the provider selected.
